Validation studies were conducted by independent agencies to examine the accuracy and suitability of Snap as a preliminary screening device when used to determine probable cause for more extensive testing. US DEPT OF TRANSPORT NHTSA
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA examined Snap as an objective means for police officers to screen suspected drinking drivers.

NHTSA found Snap could accurately distinguish alcohol levels above or below 0.100 %BAC. Tests were conducted accordingly to evidential guidelines using breath alcohol simulators.

Snap was viewed to be suited to first line screening.

W.R. GRACE & COMPANY
Tests were conducted at their Davison Chemical Division and produced results that concurred with DOT findings.

Snap tubes provided color changes in simulator tests to suitably distinguish breath alcohol levels of .000, .005 and .100 %BAC.

COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
The Colorado Department of Health’s Alcohol Test Program tested the Snap device to determine its suitability for use by police in traffic stops.

Testing was conducted on live subjects for the .000 %BAC benchmark and with breath alcohol simulators for the .100 %BAC level.

Snap was assessed to be an effective screening tool and well suited for the market it is intended to serve.

Also, the unique packaging of Snap was found to provide effective protection against contamination of the crystals until the device is ready to be used.

DENVER POLICE DEPT
The Police Department in Denver, CO conducted field studies of Snap as a screening device for drinking drivers at traffic stops. In 200 subject tests, Snap demonstrated 98% accuracy correlation

BARBARA DAVIS CENTER OF CHILDHOOD DIABETES
Testing at the Davis Center was directed to the possibility of false readings from ketones generated on the breath of diabetics. This is of concern for evidential breath testing. These tests confirmed that Snap is not responsive to ketones and rules out the chance of false positive results.

DRUG CONTROL CENTER KING’S COLLEGE, LONDON
Results of the King’s College study, conducted on 0.08 %BAC testers, demonstrate that Snap devices are accurate the .08 %BAC level.
